# Splitkia

> Splitkia is a free, offline-first group expense splitter for Android and the web (https://app.splitkia.com/). It tracks who owes what between flatmates, couples, friends and travel groups, in any currency, with no daily limits and no ads. It never holds, sends or receives money.

Key facts:

- Platform: Android app, coming soon to Google Play (not yet available). Web app at https://app.splitkia.com/ with the same features, for iPhone, iPad and computers (no native iPhone app; on iPhone use Safari and Add to Home Screen). Same Google account, same groups, same server and rules.
- Price: free. No ads. No daily limit on expenses.
- Sign-in: Google account only. Everyone in a group uses the app or the web app; invite by link, QR code or Gmail invite (email invites go to Gmail addresses only).
- Splits: equally, by exact amounts, by percent or by shares; several payers on one expense; splits always add up to the exact amount (leftover pennies are assigned by a fixed, deterministic rule).
- Balances: per group and overall; the "simplest way to settle" uses the fewest payments; balances in a group always sum to zero.
- Settling up: opens PayPal, Monzo or a UPI app with the amount filled in, or records cash. Splitkia never moves money.
- Currencies: every currency with its correct decimals; one currency per group; a home currency with converted totals (daily reference rates, display only).
- Offline: everything works offline and syncs when back online; a status shows pending changes.
- Repeating bills: weekly, every 2 weeks, every 4 weeks, monthly or yearly; skip, pause, resume, end; the leftover penny takes turns.
- Payment plans: pay back a debt in fixed instalments (up to 260), with progress and due dates; nothing is paid automatically.
- Web app: keeps an encrypted copy of your groups in the browser (IndexedDB, AES-GCM, non-extractable key) so it is fast and keeps changes made while the connection drops until they sync; signing out deletes it. Runs in one browser tab at a time. No analytics, no crash reporting, no cookies, no trackers. No reminders on the web. UPI apps only open from a phone; PayPal and Monzo links open in a new tab.
- Privacy: data on the phone or in the browser is encrypted; no ads; data is never sold; usage analytics only with consent (linked to a random id, never names, emails or amounts); data export and account deletion once balances are settled.
